Chukar Partridge

(Alectoris chukar)

Chukar are of the Pheasant family originating from Asia. Chukar are a beautifully marked bird. Their feathers carry very sharp distinct lines while the colors drastically contrast. They have a bright orange coloring to his beak accentuating his face. Most of the year Chukar live in coveys however in the spring the covey splits up into pairs for mating. During the mating season males become aggressive so much so that in some areas they are kept as fighting birds.
