Lovebirds


Lovebirds are big parrot personality wrapped in a teenie, tiny little package. They are one of the smallest of parrots being 40-60 grams. With approx. nine species of lovebirds they come in a rainbow array of colors each as stunning as the last. They have a very interactive personallity and are very social. Lovebirds form very strong bonds with their mate and even with human counterparts. Depending on the individual bird some lovebirds will mimic sounds they are exposed to and at time words, however, not all will. Lovebirds live from 10-15 years and thus should be considered when deciding to bring one into your home. They mature at a year of age but can typically have to be DNA tested to determine males from females.
